Tonight my mom and grandmother came over. My mom and I headed out to try to make my yard look like it actually belongs in our neighborhood and avoid being “that yard” that people drive by and scoff at.

At one point I came inside to get some water and saw my little girl sitting next to my grandmother (her great grandmother) with my grandmother reading to her. I don’t get sentimental often, but this was touching.

The scene reminded me of discipleship. One generation pouring into another, and then, when given the opportunity, another and another. I pray that we will not loose site of the importance of such meaningful interactions, both from our family that has gone before us, and from Godly older mentors that love us enough to guide us.
