Hey all you bloggers out there. In the wake of the Virginia Tech tragedy someone has come up with a creative way for bloggers to show their respect and honor the Virginia Tech victims. The website says:

On April 30th 2007, the Blogosphere will hold a One-Day Blog Silence in honor towards the victims of Virginia. 33 died at the US college massacre.

Most of you probably don’t know this, but I teach kids gymnastics one night a week. Yesterday, I had just finished teaching a boy’s class that was…difficult…to say the least, when one of the boys came up to me and excitedly told me that he was going to get pizza for dinner. Keep in mind, this is a 5 year old, so getting pizza is a privilege, not the daily meal like some of you college types (you know who you are). I told him that was great, and jokingly asked him if he was going to bring me a piece. Then, I went on to teach my next class and thought nothing more of the exchange.

Well, apparently this kid thought I was serious, or he (and his mom) just wanted to be giving and thoughtful, because about an hour later that kid came running into the gym and handed me my very own personal pan pizza.

All I know is, I had no pizza. I made a goofy joke to a 5 year old. He took me seriously. I got pizza. I ate pizza. I enjoyed pizza.

What would the world be like if we were all this giving and loving? What is holding us back?
