Things I am thankful for:

- My Wife
- I’m thankful that she is my spouse and my best friend (Proverbs 31:10-31)
- My Kids (Sara Kate and the one on the way, due May 17th)
- I’m thankful that I can learn from them (Matthew 18:3)
- I’m thankful that the kingdom of God belongs to such as these (Luke 18:16)
- My Family (and extended family, including many many “adopted” family members)
- I’m thankful for the example of those who have followed the Lord before me (Acts 10:2)
- I’m thankful for the responsibility that having a family brings and the accountability that comes with that. (1 Timothy 3:4)
- I’m thankful for the affection of my family and my church family (Romans 12:10)
- I’m thankful that as a believer I am part of a much larger family (Galatians 6:10)
- The Church (not the building, but the body of Christ)
- I’m thankful for times that we meet together, both in and out of the church building (Hebrews 10:25)
- I’m thankful that the church in America currently enjoys peace and is building and multiplying (Acts 9:31)
- My home
- I’m thankful for having a place to lay my head at night and break bread (Acts 2:46)
- I’m thankful that this imperfect world is not my final home (Psalm 84, 2 Corinthians 5, Ephesians 2:19)
- My Job
- I’m thankful to be able to provide for my family (1 Timothy 5:8)
- I’m thankful to be able to serve the Lord in vocational ministry (1 Corinthians 9:14, 1 Timothy 5:17-18)
- Creation
- I’m thankful for how God reveals himself in it (Romans 1:19-20)
- I’m thankful for God’s sovereignty over it (Daniel 4:35, Psalm 115:3)
- I’m thankful that creation waits for the Lord (Romans 8:19)
- Technology and how we can use it for the Kingdom
- I’m thankful that I can use my website (www.askingY.com) to spread the good news of Jesus (Acts 13:49)
- Freedom
- I’m thankful for the freedom that we experience in the US through the grace and authority of Christ (Matthew 28:18)
- I’m thankful for the freedom that I experience through Jesus (Galatians 5)
- I’m thankful to be free from the law (Galatians 5, Romans 3)
- I’m thankful to be free from the death that sin brings (Romans 6:23)
These are just my initial thoughts, I could go on indefinitely. I think we all have a lot to be thankful for, certainly more than can fit onto one page. What are you thankful for?
