Sometimes the Crooked Path is an interesting one…

So, last Saturday I took the fam to Callaway Gardens. To get to Callaway Gardens one would normally travel south on I-85, however the path we took wasn’t exactly a straight shot. The journey was interesting, the fun started when we saw this rather unusual truck (I think I want one):
After this encounter we picked up my good friend Chad and headed down the interstate. Chad and I got to talking and my powers of observation must have gone right out the window because the next thing I knew the sign on the side of the interstate read “Macon 50 miles” and something clicked in my mind telling me that something was very wrong, navigationally speaking. We got off at the next exit to try to find some direction and discovered that we had happened right onto the highway that would drop us at I-85 a mere 40 miles later. This particular route across Highway 16 took us through Coweta County where we found…the Barbie Beach:
Now, we’ve all read Proverbs 3:5-6 about God making our paths straight, but in my experience, life rarely takes a strait path. I think HBSB gives us a slightly clearer translation:
Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own understanding;think about Him in all your ways,
and He will guide you on the right paths.
I think our path to Callaway Gardens was guided, though it was somewhat less than straight. As we focus on following Jesus He will give us direction. Sometimes we might feel like our life is out of control, twisting and turning like a rollercoaster, but we can trust that Jesus will direct us to the place where He would have us be. And, we just might see some interesting things along the way…
